Large amounts of unlicensed medicines have been seized by Department of Health officials during a search of a house in Glengormley.

A guy was interviewed by department officers about illegally importing and consequently supplying unlicensed impotence medicines by means of the web.

The 47-year-old was likewise questioned about other medicine offenses.

He will now be the subject of a report to the general public Prosecution Service.

The search was performed by the department’s Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its workplace, Peter Moore, stated: “It is important that we get the message across that unlicensed medicines can be hazardous.

“These kinds of products being sold, usually online, have undergone no quality control and there can be no guarantee about their safety.

“You just do not understand what you are taking or the conditions these items were made in. More importantly, you do not know the result drugs like this may have on your health.”
